The Glasgow COP26 Climate Summit is the summit that can map a pathway towards a safe climate future.
Leading economies are moving beyond oil, coal and gas and Australia has the potential to be a world leader in climate action and renewable energy.
But, instead of seizing this opportunity, the Liberal and Labor parties want to keep burning coal and gas for another three decades. This will take us over a climate cliff. It’ll mean mass extinctions and more frequent and intense heat waves, fires, droughts and extreme rainfall.
It’s simple. If you don’t have a plan to phase out coal and gas this decade, you don’t have a plan to tackle the climate crisis.
Now is the time for action.
