COMPOST & GARDEN WASTE DISPOSAL.
Our recycling and waste system is letting us down. People in our area care about the environment and reducing their waste footprint . But we need the systems in place to help us do it!
As much as 47 per cent of what goes in our rubbish bins is food and garden waste. This organic waste sits in landfill, when instead it could be transformed into rich compost and returned to our gardens, parks and farms, restoring our depleted soils.
Port Phillip Council is trialing a Food Organics and Garden Organics in Elwood right now. We’re calling on Council to expand FOGO bins to every residence in Port Phillip by the end of 2022. The time for trials and debates is over. Every other metropolitan council has kerbside green waste collection, why not Port Phillip?
Your support is essential. We are running a community campaign to convince Port Phillip council to implement green waste collection by the end of 2022. With your support, we can get Council to prioritise green bins for residents in our area
We can’t do it without you!
Will you sign our petition to be delivered to Port Phillip Council asking for Green bins for organic waste collection by the end of 2022?
