We need your help!
Macnamara is the Greens’ next most winnable seat after Melbourne. Winning in Macnamara could mean holding the balance of power and having our voices heard. But, unlike the old parties, we don’t have big donors funding our campaign. Instead, supporters and volunteers are at the heart of everything we do.
Why volunteer?
Getting involved in the Greens means:
- Helping the Greens shape Government policy and win elections
- Making friends and connections
- Learning new skills and building your confidence
- Working towards the Australia you want to see
Volunteer with us
The Greens are proud to be powered by people, not big corporations. All of our big wins have been led by people like you who stepped up to make a difference.
Will you join us and help turn Macnamara Green?
What does volunteering look like?
Volunteering takes lots of forms! Some typical examples might be:
- Having conversations on the phone or going out to talk to voters
- Delivering flyers or handing out how-to-vote cards at election time
- Helping organise, promote, or run events
- Data entry and other important administrative tasks
We work hard to make sure that volunteering is accessible to everyone. If you have any questions before putting your hand up, please let me know! Similarly, if you feel you have unique knowledge or skills to contribute, please get in touch. You can contact me directly at steph.hodgins-may@vic.greens.org.au.
Looking forward to seeing you on the campaign trail!

What our volunteers think

Nadia
I’m proud to volunteer with Steph because it enables me to meet so many in our local community who care about the issues I do: reducing the impact of climate change and ensuring our government treats people humanely and equitably.

Jane
I volunteer with the Greens because I’m tired of negative politics, and I think it’s important to propose a positive solution. I love chatting to people about the campaign; it’s wonderful to see people’s faces light up when they realise that Steph and the Greens will stand up for what matters most to them.

David
It’s exciting and rewarding to be involved as a volunteer in this campaign with people who share my values and hopes for a better future. I volunteer my time because I believe we need more Greens in Parliament, and Steph is an excellent candidate. I’m sure this time we can elect her as the first woman to represent Macnamara!
Your vote is powerful.
Macnamara is our closest seat in the country.Your vote is powerful. Together we can deliver real outcomes for our community and the environment.
In balance of power, the Greens will tackle the climate crisis and make the billionaires pay their fair share of tax. Then we can tackle inequality, kickstart a massive spend on public housing, and get dental into Medicare.
